Post-doctoral fellows
We host Institute Post-doctoral Fellows (IPDF). We look for fresh PhDs, PhDs with under two years of postdoctoral experience, or scholars who have submitted their thesis and await examination. Experience in photoacoustic/optoacoustic, optical or ultrasound imaging systems, reconstruction algorithms, deep/machine learning, or Monte-Carlo modelling is preferred. We also host National Post-doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) candidates through ANRF, DBT-RA fellows, and Ramalingaswami Re-entry fellows. Send your CV and SOP to sandeep.kalva[at]iitb.ac.in.
PhD and MTech / dual-degree positions
We hire PhD students throughout the year. See the IITB admissions page for how to apply to PhD and MTech/MTech+PhD programs. We also host candidates with CSIR/JRF fellowships in physics, mathematics, optics or ultrasound backgrounds.
Internships (in-person only)
IITB Research Internship Award — announced yearly; Bachelor’s and Master’s students yet to finish their degree can apply via the IRCC page.
External students — apply through the academic internship page for 6-month to one-year projects. We strongly encourage long-term commitments of at least six months over short summer internships.
