Meet the team shaping cilia biology lab.

Our Team

Person 1

Dr. Swapnil R Shinde

Hello, I am Swapnil. I joined the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at IIT Bombay in August 2022 as a faculty. I earned my PhD from the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad, under the guidance of Dr. Maddika Subba Reddy in 2018. Subsequently, I moved to the University of California San Francisco to pursue my postdoctoral training with Prof. Maxence Nachury. During my postdoc, I explored the biology of a tiny organelle, primary cilia, often dubbed the “Signaling antenna.” I spend most of my free time with my son, Rudransh, and enjoy moments of solitude whenever possible.
