Speaker Bio:

Dr Suman Thakur’s research interest involves applying Mass Spectrometry in Health and Diseases, especially finding biomarkers and Drug Development in Cancer and pandemic disease. His lab uses mass spectrometry-based high throughput quantitative proteomics, natural product chemistry, cell biology, animal model, and modern biology approaches to find the target, develop new drugs, and elucidate its molecular and mechanistic details against cancer. Investigation of the efficacy of various purified/characterized natural and synthetic metabolites with minimum side effects on different cancers including melanoma, retinoblastoma, and leukaemia, using in vitro and in vivo methods is one of his major areas. Further, his interest is to elucidate the mode of action of a few selected compounds targeting cell adhesion, AKT signalling and tyrosine kinase in cancer.
Currently, he is an Editorial board member of the Journal of proteome research (JPR), BBA Protein and Proteomics, Scientific Reports, and associate editor in BB Report, Frontiers in oncology, and Frontiers in cell and developmental biology.
