My research interest is to understand biology by analyzing data using ideas from statistics and making models based on principles of statistical mechanics and soft-matter physics. In my group, we focus on two broad research questions: (i) How chromatin/DNA (the genetic material) is organised in space and time inside living cells. (ii) How self-assembly and dynamics of certain proteins contribute towards decision-making within cells? We use computer simulations — molecular simulations — to answer these questions.
