Joined the lab after completing BS\/MS from NISER Bhubaneswar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sai Samarpita<\/strong>, Studying nucleosome positioning and models for chromatin. Joined the lab after completing UG in Electrial Engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Siddharth Pankar<\/strong>, Studying self-assembly of biomolecules. She works on chromatin organization <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PhD Students (completed)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ishutesh Jain: &nbsp;<\/strong>PhD (2016). Moved to&nbsp;<em>Institut Curie<\/em>, Paris, France as a post-doctoral fellow. During PhD, Ishutesh developed models to understand microtubule dynamics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jyotsana Parmar:<\/strong>&nbsp;PhD (2016). Moved to&nbsp;<em>Instut Pasteur<\/em>, Paris, France as a post-doctoral fellow. During PhD, Jyotsana predicted how different factors would influence the nucleosome kinetics near transcription start sites.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hungyo Kharerin:<\/strong>&nbsp;PhD (2017). Moved to&nbsp;<em>Pennsylvania State University, USA<\/em>&nbsp;as a post-doctoral fellow. Hungyo studied gene regulation and presented models for nucleosome kinetics in the PHO5 promoters, and Gal3 protein conformations regulating GAL switch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deepak Hansda:<\/strong>&nbsp;PhD (2017), Moved to&nbsp;<em>SASTRA University<\/em>. Deepak worked on actin assembly. Deepak investigated kinetics of actin growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.harvard.edu\/sranganathan\">Srivastav Ranganathan<\/a>,&nbsp;<\/strong>PhD (2018), Moved to&nbsp;<em>Harvard University, USA<\/em>&nbsp;as a post-doctoral fellow. Srivastav studied self-assembly and aggregation of proteins. He proposed a minimal model that can reproduce diverse set of self-assemblies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gaurav Bajpai,&nbsp;<\/strong>PhD (2018)&nbsp;Moved to Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel as a post-doctoral fellow. Gaurav\u2019s work proposed a plausible explanation for the absence of 30nm chromatin structure in vivo. He showed that DNA-bending proteins can make 30nm chromatin fibre unstable and generate irregular structures.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Aparna J&nbsp;<\/strong>PhD(2019) Moved to Institut Curie Paris as post-doctoral fellow. Aparna examined microtubule kinetics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kumarikiran.github.io\">Kiran Kumari<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;: (2021) Moved to University of Texas at Austin as a post-doctoral fellow. During PhD, Kiran developed an inverse method to compute 3D organization of chromatin. Studied dynamics of chromatin domains.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/rakeshkrish.wixsite.com\/rakesh\">Rakesh K<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>(2023) Moved to the University of Pennsylvania as a post-doctoral fellow. Rakesh\u2019s Ph.D. work investigated the role of weak non-specific interactions for protein self-assembly and the formation of condensates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jennifer Joseph&nbsp;<\/strong>(2023) For her Ph.D., Jennifer studied the self-assembly of proteins and the breakage-dependent growth of protein fibers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sangramkadam.github.io\">Sangram J Kadam<\/a>&nbsp; <\/strong>(2024) Moved to New York University as post-doctoral fellow. For his PhD, Sangram &nbsp;studied chromatin organization and dynamics. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vinoth M&nbsp;<\/strong> (2025) Moved to IISc Bangalore as a post-doctoral fellow. Vinoth, for his PhD, Studied histone modification spreading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Former Post-doctoral Fellows<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-a2ad4a4c-f390-4b57-a95b-fd0d4895540f\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dr. Shantanu Kadam,&nbsp;<\/strong>National Post-doctoral Fellow (PhD, NCL, Pune).
