Most of the genetic alterations in cancer happen in the tumor-suppressor genes, wherein mutations disable the tumor suppressor function or expression. The tumor suppressors are not produced in the cancer cells, making them difficult to target. Therefore, we target the dependent pathways and devise treatment strategies.

Our computational analysis allows us to predict novel driver genes and their potential roles in cancer using genomics and proteomics studies. However, it can be challenging to determine which gene or mutation drives tumor growth and which are simply passengers.

For further understanding, we use wet-lab tools to define the role of a gene in cancer and explore its molecular mechanisms.
